MCCL's annual Fall Tour equips volunteers across state
In an effort to meet MCCL members and others up-close and personal, MCCL launched our Fall Tour program in 2003 to replace the annual MCCL State Convention. Staff persons were sent to every region of Minnesota throughout September and October. The first Fall Tour was a tremendous pro-life educational success as citizens learned about the latest ultrasound technology, picked up new brochures for teens, took billboards home and much more.
The Fall Tour has become so popular that it is now much anticipated every year. “We are able to meet with several times as many folks as normally came to the MCCL State Convention, which is one of our goals,” MCCL President Leo LaLonde explains. “People appreciate the fact that we come to them, and they turn out in large numbers for our training.”
Materials equip volunteers
MCCL staffers offer a PowerPoint presentation to educate and equip pro-life volunteers for effective work in their own communities. Obamacare, stem cell research and human cloning, health care rationing, the expansion of abortion and similar topics are covered.
Each attendee receives a packet of essential materials about taxpayer funded abortions, assisted suicide, abortion of pain capable unborn children and a list of the many ways that one individual can make a difference in protecting life.
Legislative plans discussed
MCCL staffers discuss pro-life legislation that MCCL is working to pass, as well as the many laws we have helped to pass that are saving lives today.
Media coverage of the meetings is widespread and positive. Newspapers across the state run articles and photos of local pro-lifers joining together to share the message of life in their communities.
Volunteers are ready
“These pro-life education meetings have been a real shot in the arm for the pro-life movement across Minnesota,” LaLonde concludes. “Our Fall Tour helps MCCL activists feel prepared and ready to take action in the mission to protect precious lives.”
Make plans to join MCCL and other pro-lifers at your nearest Fall Tour gathering. Come to be informed, motivated and activated!
