It is estimated that 40% of women will have been pregnant by the time they are 19 years old. That means that many young women have sought help. Sadly, too many didn't find it but found abortions instead. Abortion clinics don't offer help - they offer abortions, which is how they make their living.
There are centers that offer practical help. They give women positive solutions to an unexpected pregnancy. These centers exist all across Minnesota and they are very near you wherever you live. You can see a list of Pregnancy Care Centers on the Pregnant? Need help? page.
If you have had an abortion and want to talk to someone about it, there are several organizations which specialize in post abortion healing. They are listed on our Post Abortive Services page.
We know many young women turn to their closest friends first when they are in need. We have developed two brochures especially to give you the tools to your friends when they are pregnant or have already had an abortion. The two brochures are "Talking to a friend who's considering abortion" and "When your friend has had an abortion". If you would like to obtain several of these brochures, they are available at our online store [printshop1.html] for a donation of $.10/ea. Another source of information is the Minnesota Department of Health Handbook. This is available directly from the state at http://www.health.state.mn.us/wrtk/handbook.html or via the online store.
Finally, spread the word about the Safe Place for Newborn law. This allow for a newborn to be dropped off anonymously and for the mother to not face child abandonment charges as long as the baby isn't harmed.
